House Rules

The keys (2 sets) are as follows: 2 keys for Side door (bolt and knob), 1 key for Front door and 1 Loon Lake boat launch key. The boat launch is located next to the Loon Lake Public Beach, Route 8. Directions are as follows: White Schoolhouse Road to Route 8, make right and the boat launch is on the right just before the Loon Lake Beach. Use the launch if you bring your own boat. If you rent a boat, boat can be rented from the Loon Lake Marina located on Marina Road, Chestertown, NY (518-494-3410). All keys are to be placed back on the rack where you found them upon your departure.

Smoking is NOT permitted inside The Stone Lodge. There are ashtrays in the draw to the left of the refrigerator. Please feel free to take the ashtray outside with you to use anywhere on the property. Please pick up all cigarette butts from the ground.

People other than those in the Guest party reserved at The Stone Lodge may not stay overnight in or on the property. Any other person in the property is the sole responsibility of Guest.

The Stone Lodge is privately owned. The Homeowners are not responsible for any accidents, injuries or illnesses that occur while on the premises or its facilities. The Homeowners are not responsible for the loss of personal belongings or valuables of the guest. Guests have agreed that they are expressly assuming the risk of any harm arising from their use of the premises or others whom they invite to use the premises. If any items are left behind at The Stone Lodge, they will be placed in a bin for 10 days. Please contact us within the 10 days, and we will mail the item to you.

Keep the property and all furnishings in the same order as you found them. There is no daily housekeeping service. The Stone Lodge is cleaned before arrival and after departure. The Stone Lodge does not provide linens and towels; however, feel free to use the hand towels we do have. Please do not take The Stone Lodge towels to the beach.

The appliances are all in good working order. Please keep children away from the fireplace. Do not allow them to play with the knobs or buttons on the fireplace or bar-b-que grill. Please do not throw any paper or other combustible materials in the fireplace or grill. In case of a fire emergency, call 911, or for small fires use the fire extinguisher located in the kitchen on the wall next to the refrigerator.

7. Pets
Pets are permitted only with prior approval, and the Pet Waiver must have been completed prior to arrival. You are responsible for your pet, so please keep your dog on a leash unless you know without a doubt that your pet is friendly and will acclimate to his/her new setting in a peaceful, harmless way with other people and pets.

8. Parking
Parking is available by the side door and across from The Stone Lodge in a defined area. Do not block the right-of-way to go to the beach, as there are residents that use this roadway.

9. WI-FI and Internet
We have supplied The Stone Lodge with WI-FI and Internet service. In order to use WI-FI, please enter the following:

10. Toilet
The septic system is very effective; however, it will clog up if improper material is flushed. DO NOT FLUSH anything other than toilet paper. No feminine products should be flushed at anytime. If it is found that anything other than toilet paper has been flushed and clogs the septic system, you could be charged damages of up to the cost of repair. If by accident something is flushed (child’s toy), please contact us immediately to remedy. Accidents do happen and we understand that.

11. Storms
In case there is a power outage, we have prepared a box that includes two flashlights. National Grid, the electric company in our area, is very quick to remedy all power outages. Please be sure to extinguish all candles upon going to bed or once the electric has been restored. No refund is given in the case of a storm or power outage caused by the storm. The safety box, which includes a first aid kit, is located in the closet of the first floor bathroom shelf.

12. Games and Toys
There are puzzles and games under the stairs in the floor cabinet. Please enjoy them and put away as found. The outdoor games are located in the foyer at the side door. The lawn boundaries are between the two hedgerows in front of the porch down to the wooden dock. The lawn area is a great place for all yard games.

13. Dock
There is a metal dock at the beach where you may keep your watercraft. The right side of the dock is used by Bill, our tenant. Please leave the right side of the dock for Bill as he may be out on his pontoon boat. He is a nice guy and is always eager to help, if needed.

14. Beach
The beach is at the end of this property to the right of your dock. We invite you to use the beach during your stay for your enjoyment. The fire pit is also ready for you to enjoy with firewood near the pit. Kindly remember to extinguish all fire and smoking embers before leaving the beach. Extra firewood can be purchased at Nice N Easy, Stewarts or the Crossroads.

15. No Lifeguard
The Stone Lodge does not provide a lifeguard on its privately-owned beach. Therefore, all children are to be attended by an adult that can safely monitor them at all times. The water at the beach is a long gradual slope allowing for great swimming. No fast watercraft shall be permitted in the swimming area at all. This area is very safe and calm.

16. Futons and Couch
Both ends of the leather couch in the Great Room are recliners. The table behind the couch must be pulled away in order to recline. Please have someone help you move the table away as it is heavy. The table can also be used as extra dining space. The ends come up and the “under” wood bars slide out to hold the ends up.

There are three futon-type beds at The Stone Lodge, one in the downstairs TV room, one in the den and one in the children’s room upstairs. All are easy to to pull out into a bed. For instructions, check the draw next to the refrigerator.

17. Bedding
The Adirondacks can get chilly at night. There are extra blankets for each bed in the closets and dresser of each of the rooms.

The Stone Lodge is YOUR home for the duration of your stay. Please enjoy and care for it as your own.
